“I never started out thinking I would be in this role. I studied at AB Tech to start my own business doing remodeling, but I quickly fell in love with custom homebuilding. After being an intern for about three months, I moved into project management. I then moved into a builder coordinator role which transformed into operations manager. I didn’t even realize these were positions I could have. If you have goals, make it known that you want to move up. Make sure you are reaching out to your employers, let them know your dream. My roles were created around my skillset. You see a lot of people go down different career paths in the construction industry. There’s so much diversity with where you can go. There’s always room for growth.”
